POLCHLOPEK, Marion Recently of Kettering OH, passed away peacefully at the age of 87. Her husband, Edward, preceded her in death. Marion was born and raised in Chicopee, MA and moved to Ohio in 2012 to be closer to her daughter. As a teen, she began working in the hat shop at Ames Manufacturing, and became an accomplished seamstress. After her marriage, she worked from home doing alterations and dressmaking, while raising her three children: Joe Polchlopek of Cedar Grove, NC, Susan Kinner of Kettering, OH and Johanna Gibson of Waikoloa, HI.Marion also worked as a health aide with the Visiting Nurses Association of Springfield, MA for 19 years where she became acquainted with the Springfield Hobby Club. After her retirement, Marion volunteered there in the thrift store and at reception, as well as assisting with lunches and tag sales.She loved fishing and spent many weekends with the family at Quabbin Reservoir, hiking and fishing. She and Edward traveled extensively around the country, following the many moves of their children, and spoke fondly of their tour of Europe as a highlight of their lives.Marion is survived by her sister Barbara Douglas of Chicopee, MA, her three children, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018
