Burnetta was born June 2, 1930 to Jacob and Elizabeth (Kautzman) Gerhardt in Flasher, ND where she was raised and educated. On June 5, 1951 she married Francis Barth in St. Anthony, ND. They made their home on a farm south of St. Anthony where they raised their 5 children.

Our mother was dedicated to her family, her farm and her faith. She was a person we were very proud to call Mom. Mom always kept a clean house and cooked great food. She watched out for her children while actively taking part in farm and household activities. After her husband, Francis passed away at an early age in 1984; she enjoyed her employment at the North Dakota Legislature and her work on behalf of the ND Democratic NPL.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Sanford off Collins and Miller Pointe for the excellent care she received. She made many new friends during her stay at these excellent facilities.

Burnetta will be deeply missed by her daughters, Gisele (Rodney) Thorson and MaDonna (Chuck) Lehn; sons, Dwight (Jinny), Elwood “Woody” (Carmell) and Leland “Judge” (Susan); 6 grandchildren, Justin (Beth) Barth, Robin (Josh) Shipley, Austin (Jeanna) Lehn, Alyssa Lehn, Rachel Barth and Owen Barth; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathryn Barth, Marge (Robert) Knoll, Dolores (Albert) Messer and Darlene (Dennis) Haider; brothers, Eugene (Esther) and Edwin (Pat); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis; her parents; twin sister, Loretta; and brother-in-law, Benno Barth.
