Relatives said Mr. Brankamp had suffered from a diabetic condition.
He returned home Friday from dinner with several Pogue’s officials and complained of being ill. A doctor summoned later, arrived too late and pronounced him dead at 1 a.m.
Born in Cincinnati, Mr. Brankamp had worked for department stores all of his life. He had been with Pogue’s for 38 years. As traffic manager, he had charge of all of the store’s warehouse and delivery operations.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Anna M. Brankamp; two sons Walter H. and Raymond; a sister, Mrs Elsie Schwab, and six grandchildren.
The Vitt & Stermer funeral home, Cheviot, is in charge.
