LANCASTER, Wis. - Sylvester P. Kipper, 75, of Lancaster, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 1996, at his residence. He was born March 27, 1920 in Glen Haven, Wisconsin, the son of John and Katie (Kirschbaum) Kipper. He married Marjorie Wilcox at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fennimore.

He worked as a patrolman for Grant County for many years and then later worked for the Green Thumb Program. He was known by his family and friends for paying respect to many of those who had passed before him by taking flowers to various cemeteries.

He is survived by three sons, Gerald (Brenda) of Lancaster, Raymond (Margo) of Beloit, and Joe of Rockford, Ill.; three daughters, Marena (Rod) Abney, Linda (Russ) Kitsemble, and Rhonda (Steve) Stumpf, all of Rockford, Ill.; a brother, LaVern of Lancaster; two sisters, Marcella Jerrett of Lancaster and Irene (Lee) Irish of Lancaster; special friend, Florence Hamilton; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Stoker.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 12, 1996 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fennimore with Father George Horath officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary's Church Cemetery. Schwartz Funeral Home assisted the family.
