Mrs. Halas was born January 19, 1920, in Toledo, OH to George N. Carlos and Leona Coppedge Carlos. She attended Florida State Women's College, and was a self-employed music teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thomas Halas.
Mrs. Halas is survived by her cousin Rosemary Cotten, and one sister-in-law, Doris Bynum.
