Wanda V. Dallegge, 95, of David City, died Friday, August 31, 2018, at david place in David City

Wanda Dallegge was born May 13, 1923, near Brady, Nebraska to Harm and Anna (Plank) Kruse.

She was baptized on June 23, 1923, at Zion Lutheran Church in Gothenburg and confirmed at First English Lutheran Church in Rising City. She attended high school in Rising City and was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rising City.

On December 14, 1941 she married Delmar Dallegge at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Surprise. They resided on a farm near Garrison where they raised their three children; Carol, James and Nancy. After Delmar retired they moved to Garrison where they enjoyed dancing, traveling, playing cards and visiting with friends. They also enjoyed their little dog "Mimi".

Wanda started painting after Delmar died in 1995. She also enjoyed watching Husker Football with her sisters. They got together any time there was a game on TV but never really paid attention because they were busy visiting with each other. She took many trips to Hawaii with her sisters and they became known as the "white hairs" or "dandelion sisters". They could always be seen together. Wanda loved cooking for her family and hosted many Sunday dinners. She also made "turtle"pancakes for the grandkids. Her chocolate cake, always made from scratch, was a hit with family and friends. She was a long time member of the Union Extension Club and worked at the Butler County Hospital until her retirement.

Wanda is survived by her children; Carol(Jerry) Duren of Columbus, James Dallegge of David City, Nancy (Dwayne) Lanc of Abie, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Those meeting her in heaven are her parents, husband Delmar, five sisters; Florence, Jolene, Evelyn Uphoff, Miriam Shunk Wozney, Jean Hover, three brothers; Clifford, Wesley and Stanley Kruse and her great-grandson Samuel Duren Wickham.
