Lena married, in 1936 in Georgetown, Williamson Co., TX, Oscar Arthur Raschke, a son of Emil Raschke and Anna Fritsche.

Mother of Wayne Alan, Lonnie Lloyd, David Lee and Elaine Ann Raschke.

Granddaughter of Carl L Beyer & Anna Louisa Findeisen and Gustav D Benad Sr & Henrietta Bachmann.

Lena died in Taylor, Williamson Co., TX.

Lena Raschke, 97, of Taylor, died Saturday, August 16, 2003 in a local nursing home.

Visitation will be Sunday, 5 to 7 PM at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be Monday, August 18, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kim Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran School, 410 W. 7th St., Taylor, TX 76574.

Lena Mary Raschke was born August 15, 1906 to Emil and Frieda (Benad) Beyer in Beyersville, Texas. A life long resident of Taylor, Lena married Oscar Raschke in Georgetown in 1936. Lena worked as a seamstress for Taylor Bedding for 24 year, retiring in 1981 to become a full time homemaker. She was known for her sewing and great cooking abilities. Her family's favorites of fried chicken, coffee cake and homemade bread were made often. Lena was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Taylor and a member of Esther Circle. A group of ladies often got together to make quilts.

Lena is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Raschke; a son, Wayne Alan Raschke; her parents; two brothers, Lee and Charles Beyer; a sister, Lydia Rieger; and son-in-law David Oser.

Survivors include two sons Lonnie Raschke and wife Marilyn of Taylor, David Raschke and wife Mary of Lockhart; her daughter, Elaine Oser of Taylor; four grandchildren, Brent, Matthew and Jason Raschke and Andrew Oser and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Brent Raschke, Matthew Raschke, Jason Raschke, Andrew Oser, Roy Brinkmeyer, and Ray Raschke.
