It is with sadness that the family of Peter J. Klassen, beloved husband of Lena Klassen, announces his passing in Long Term Care at the Coaldale Health Centre on February 8, 2018 at the age of 89 years.
Peter was born on July 13, 1928 in Neu-Chortitza, Russia, and came to Canada in 1948.
Besides his wife of 66 years, he is survived by three loving daughters; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as sister Anna Klassen and numerous nieces and nephews all in Germany.
Peter was predeceased by his parents: Jacob and Maria (Funk) Klassen, brothers: Jacob and Heinrich, sister Maria Klassen, and infant son Willy.
Peter was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, and opa. Sadly, the heart-breaking grip of Alzheimer’s led to unrelenting loss for over 10 years.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316 – 17th St. Coaldale, AB. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects one hour prior to the service.
