Cecil Linton Bobbitt, 76, of Christian, departed this life on Monday, September 10, 2018, at Logan Regional Medical Center. Cecil was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and special dog “Bear”. His strong faith in God carried him through all of life's hardships and he was an inspiration to his family.
He was born on January 21, 1942 at Rome, GA. He was the son of the late Robert Bobbitt (Deceased) and Alice Story-Bobbitt-Stephens (Deceased). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Eathel Delorice Lester-Bobbitt (1944-2017).
Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Debbie Bobbitt-Blankenship & husband Johnny Blankenship of Gilbert, Tammy Bobbitt-Robinette & husband Roger Robinette of Spice Creek; one son Randall Bobbitt of Christian; one sister, Glenda Bobbitt-Jones of Rome, GA; five grandchidren, Dustin Bobbitt of Christian, Tara Grubb & husband Matthew Grubb of Bolt, Whitney Brown & wife Madison Brown of Huntington, Corey Robinette of Spice Creek, and Brittany Robinette of Neon, KY; four great-grandchildren, Levi Grubb, Kinlee Grubb, Briella Brown, and Colton McCray; and the wonderful Auldie Lester family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Christian Freewill Baptist Church at Christian with Rev. Jackie Grimmett and Rev. Roger Browning officiating. Following services he will lovingly be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Eathel Delorice Lester-Bobbitt (1942-2018).
