Wheatfield ~ Services for Edward Julius Hine, 81, of Wheatfield, who died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday in the Little Company of Mary hospital in San Pierre after an illness of 15 days, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the United Church of Christ in San Pierre.
The Rev. Walter Luedtke will officiate with burial in the Medaryville cemetery. Friends may call at the Todd Funeral home in DeMotte today and after 11 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at the church in San Pierre.
A bachelor and retired farmer, Hine was born in Jasper county July 29, 1883, the son of Julius and Charlotte (Luken) Hine. A life-time resident of the Wheatfield area, he was a member of the United Church of Christ.
Surviving are two brothers, Fred and Henry, North Judson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Anna Clark and Mrs. Ella Grieger.
