Harry Herbert Burgess Jr., 79, of 90 Carriage Hill Drive, died Tuesday evening at Hartford Hospital in Hartford. He maintained a second residence in Wilmington, Vt., for the past 32 years. He was born in Auburn, N.Y., Nov. 20, 1910, the son of Harry H. and Margaret Burgess. He received his education in New York and attended Syracuse University. Mr. Burgess served in the U.S. Army Air Force reserves in World War II. He was married to the former Doris Hotze in Syracuse on Nov. 29, 1938. He worked for many years in research and development for RCA throughout the New England area. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Wethersfield. Survivors include his wife, Doris Burgess of Wethersfield; a son, David H. Burgess of Wethersfield; a brother, Royce Burgess of Sparta, N.J.; nieces, nephews and cousins. A service of remembrance will be held Saturday noon at the Covey and Allen Funeral Home in Wilmington. There are no calling hours. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington.
