Gilbert was retired from the oilfield and after retirement he loved to go craw fishing .
He enjoyed cooking and having family over, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Glenn Ardoin Bergeaux of Basile, his three loving sons; his two daughters and his two sisters, along with his fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great- grandchildren, as well as extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Eva Klumpp Bergeaux and a sister, Loyce Hebert.
