Daniel G. Quinley of Germantown, TN went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2018 at the age of 79 following a well fought battle against pancreatic cancer. He loved cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Dan was a Scholarship Donor to the University of Memphis for many years. He was a proud supporter of the Tigers, attending most football and basketball games…never letting wet or cold weather conditions get in his way!

Dan graduated from Munford High School (Munford, TN) in 1957 and received a BBA degree from Cumberland University. He worked at The Kellogg’s Cereal Company for 35 years in various positions. Upon retirement he was the Operations Resource Manager and Trainer. After retiring from Kellogg’s, he served as Vice President for Kellogg’s Retirement Association for more than 20 years. While working at Kellogg’s he proudly served in the Tennessee Army National Guard where he graduated from the Tennessee Military Academy; Officers Basic School; and the Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, KS. Dan retired from the Army Guard after 33 years at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

One would think that he would now relax and enjoy his double retirement. Not Dan, he started his third career as a Realtor with Crye-Leike, Realtors obtaining the GRI, CRS, ABR and SEES designations. He was the proud recipient of the Crye-Leike Circle of Excellence and VP Designation. For 10 years, Dan was the Co-Chairman of the Sherry Park Memorial Golf Tournament with proceeds going to West Wings Cancer Foundation.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents Camon Orr Quinley and Margaret Rebecca Quinley of Munford, TN as well as his brother Richard Orr Quinley. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myra Quinley; son Daniel Blaine Quinley; daughter Loree Quinley Walenczyk (Mark Walenczyk); and many friends and family members.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, visits and phone calls during Dan’s illness.

Visitation will be at Memphis Funeral Home at 5599 Poplar Avenue on Tuesday, October 23rd from 5 to 7 p.m. The Service will be at Memphis Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 24th at 10 a.m. with the burial service at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Drummonds, TN (Tipton County); at 2 p.m.
