Peter Hergert. 79 years old, died Friday afternoon at 4:10 o'clock at the home of his son. Alex Hergert. 141 Eighth avenue. He had been confined to his bed for the last three weeks because of ill health.
Mr. Hergert was born Nov. 22. 1849. in Russia. He was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Schad. Jan. 6, 1871. In 1913 he came to America and settled in Oshkosh and had lived here since that time. The deceased was preceded in death by his wife, who passed away twenty-five years ago today.
The survivors are three sons. Alex and Henry Hergert, both of this city, and John Hergert of Russia; one sister, Mrs. Henry Weitz of Oshkosh; twenty-two grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock at the home of the son and at 2 o'clock at the Zion Lutheran church. Rev. Leo Oberletter will be the officiating clergyman The commitment services will be held at the Riverside chapel and the remains will be placed in the receiving vault temporarily.
