Obituary: Mr. Robert Alan Boswell, of Frederick, MD, died suddenly at his residence on Thursday, April 18, 2013. He was born September 27, 1956, in Baltimore, MD. He was the only son of Robert Jehu and Marietta Hervatin Boswell, of Damascus, MD. Alan graduated from Damascus High School and attended the University of Maryland. He was a highly skilled craftsman and builder and began his career in the concrete industry. He worked on many large commercial projects, including two YMCAs, a government facility and sections of Tysons Corner. For many years, he owned and operated his custom remodeling company, Robert Alan, Inc. Most recently, he was employed as a superintendent for V. F. Pavone Construction Company of Manassas, VA. He enjoyed history, hunting and fishing, and was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, Alan is survived by his beloved wife, Deidre Anne Lewis-Boswell; his sister, Nancy Grace Long and her husband David of Rockville, MD; his sister, Jane Irene Boswell of Miami Beach, FL; and by many other relatives. He was pre-deceased by three infant daughters, Fawn, Crystal and Moriah, from a former marriage. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Alan's memory to Hospice of Frederick County, 516 Trail Ave., Frederick, MD 21701. Services will be private.
