Services will be at 2:00pm Wednesday at Dalton-Holmes Chapel for Alice Joyce Hider, 67, of Tom Bean, Texas, who died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Wilson N Jones Hospital in Sherman, Texas. Brother Anthony Williams will officiate.
She was born Wednesday, March 6, 1940, in Cobb to Alfred Mack Tucker and Lola Inez (Birdville) Tucker. She enjoyed camping, singing, and dancing. Some of her favorite times were getting together with her family and listening to music. She loved being with her grandchildren. They were her life. She was a member of the Civil Defense and the Bryan County Sheriff Reserve.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Joyce is survived by her sons:

When we first moved to Tom Bean, Texas in 1989 our son became friends with Youseff Alkatib, grandson of Joyce. Then when my mother in law Rena Howard began coming down to help baby sit our youngest son Jacob she would stay a week and then through the kids we all met because the kids Jason and Youseff was playing sports... baseball mostly. So we became friends with the Alkatibs, (Debbie is Joyce daughter) and Joyce and Rena began to visit each other at the ballgames and found out they was somehow like 4th cousins. I remember Jason and Youseff going to school when they found out (like 2nd graders) and telling everyone they was cousins and the teacher got onto them for telling tales so anyway the teacher had to be told differently and that the boys were in fact long distance cousins and if they wanted to be cousins at school that is not the teachers place to say otherwise.
Joyce did love her grandkids and as the years went by she attended many many of their ballgames and sports activities. Joyce was a good lady and a good person.
