Martha Julia Koenning, 83, of Ganado, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006 in Victoria. She was born June 27, 1923, in Wharton, to the late Vince and Anne Schindler Ulrich. She was a retired custodian and member of St. James Lutheran Church, the Altar Guild, and Deborah Circle. She enjoyed playing dominos and Monday afternoon quilting.
Survivors daughter, Marion Allen of Ganado; son, Alton Ray Koenning of College Station; sister, Margaret Drescher of Columbus; brother, Alton Ul-rich of La Grange; and six grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husband, Louis H. Koenning; sisters, Annie Juroska and Dorothy Weidner; and brothers, Rudolf Ulrich, Richard Ulrich, Vincee Ulrich, and Alvin Ulrich.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. tonight at Ganado Funeral Home in Ganado.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church, followed by burial at Ganado Cemetery. Ganado Funeral Home, 361-771-2120.
