Burton C. Quast, 69, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill with Rev. Keith Bilitz officiating. Interment will be in the Smiths Mill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Friday morning for one hour prior to services, at church.
Burton Charles was born on October 11, 1937 in Mankato, Minnesota to Rudolph and Ella (Krueger) Quast. Burt served in the U.S. Army Reserves. On October 7, 1971 he was united in marriage to Colleen Marie Pietig in Mankato, Minnesota. Burt farmed his entire life on the family farm in Janesville Township, Waseca County. In addition to farming, he owned and operated Quast Trucking, as well as a back hoe and tiling business. For the last 10 years Burt trucked for Berry Pallets. He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Smiths Mill. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his 12 children, Charles (Jessica) Quast of Janesville, Bernadette (Corey) Sack of Janesville, Collette (Scott) Lynch of Janesville, Brigitte (Chad) Strauss of Janesville, Bruce (Angela) Quast of Janesville, Curt Quast of Janesville, Don (Jennifer) Quast of Janesville, Allen Quast of Waldorf, Mark (Sara) Quast of Mt. Iron, Tim Quast of Janesville, Dan Quast of Janesville and Annette (Dominic) Bure of Waldorf; his grandchildren, Ashly, Carter, Carson, Cody, Jordan, Jeremiah, Devon, Kelton, Kirston, Kaylon, Dillon, Kennedy, Kade, Lilly, Zachary, Jenna, William, Austin, Cameron, Brielle; his sisters Bonnie (Joe) Manns of Shakopee, Betty (Harold) Wolle of Mankato, Bernice Kuehn of Elysian; his sisters-in-law, De Ann Gieske of Sleepy Eye, Pattie (Wayne) Pelzel of Sleepy Eye; brothers-in-law David Pietig of Sleepy Eye, Jim Gieske of Springfield, Perry (Lisa) Pietig of Sleepy Eye; by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Colleen; his son, Scott; his parents; and his mother and father-in-law.
Casketbearers are his sons; Charles Quast, Bruce Quast, Curt Quast, Don Quast, Allen Quast, Mark Quast, Tim Quast, and Dan Quast. Honorary bearers are: Dick Schnepf, Eugene Miller Geraldine Schweim, Richard Klaseus, Herman Ziegler, Corey Sack, Scott Lynch, Chad Strauss, Dominic Bure.
