VIRGINIA LEE OWENS LOOCK, at peace on Dec 13, 2011, at the age of 90, in St. Augustine, Florida. A resident of Greenwich, CT and Palm Beach, FL for over 55 years, she was the wife of the late William A. Loock, Jr. and mother of Heidi Haughey of Boston, MA, Diana Shildneck of Trumbull, CT, Melissa Rosmus of Orleans, MA and William Loock III of Southbury, CT. In addition to her children, their spouses and ten grandchildren, she is survived by her sister, Mary Routh, of Savannah, GA and her niece, Katherine Ferber, of Moraga, CA. She was also the sister of the late Pamela Britton. She was born on October 14, 1921 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ethel Owen Almy and Dr. Raymond G. Owens. Virginia was a graduate of the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles and Katherine Gibbs in New York City. In the mid-1940's, she was under contract at RKO studios where she appeared in western movies. Later, she became a Harry Conover model in New York and her photos appeared on the covers of Vogue and Harpers Bazaar. Funeral arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in her name to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or to a charity of choice
