He married Marlene M. Ohler on August 13, 1966 at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur.
Marvin served his country in the United States Army Reserves.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur.
Marvin graduated from Monmouth High School in 1953. He retired from PRIMCO Inc. in Fort Wayne in 2001 and had previously worked at Prestress (Yost) in Decatur. Marvin was also a lifelong farmer.
He loved repairing equipment & construction, mowing, & caring for his pets.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Fast of Ohio City; daughter, Sandra Fast of Ohio City; three sisters, Dorothy Brown of Ohio City, Carolyn McCullough and Connie (Larry) Weaver both of Decatur; brother, Melvin (Colleen) Fast of Decatur; and three brothers-in-law, Lee Wolfe of Pleasant Mills, Melvin Ohler of Ardmore, TN, and Ralph Schnitz of Defiance, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Donna Wolfe; two brothers-in-law, Bill McCullough & Pete Brown; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Schnitz & Marie Hegemeyer.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor James Voorman officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.
