J. Michael Emig, 46, of 1342 Union St., died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital after a long illness.
He worked for Armstrong World Industries as a print machine operator since 1968.
Emig was involved with Boy Scouts of America and was an Eagle Scout with Troop 58 of Willow Street.
He was a volunteer for the Lancaster Recreation Commission Youth Soccer Club.
He was a member of Apostles United Church of Christ of Lancaster.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was married to Carol Burger Emig for 13 years last August.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of John W. Jr. and Margaret "Peg" H. Emig of Willow Street.
He was a 1968 graduate of Penn Manor.
Surviving besides his wife and parents are two sons, John Michael II and Ryan Matthew, both at home; one brother, James M. of Glenmoore; and one sister, Andrea L. Evans of New Providence.
