Mario Frank Matteo “Big Daddy”, age 93, of Moody, Alabama went to his Heavenly home on Saturday, December 1, 2018. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 28, 1925 to Angelo and Antonette Matteo. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy and was retired from Brice Building of New Orleans with 47 years of service. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Ann Matteo.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Rebecca Ruth Matteo; daughters, Linda Stokes, Marylin Summerville and Tami Cooper (Eric); grandchildren, Teri Ward (John), Cindy Tipton (Bill), Dani Huffman (Steven), Denise Wright (Eddie), Zachary and Maddie Cooper; great-grandchildren, Joel Huffman (Kayla), Jessica Bailey (Daniel), Christopher Pattillo, Ashley and Isaac Huffman, Mia and Maci Wright; great-great grandchildren, Laiken, Tyde and Harbor Huffman and nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Covenant Faith Church in Moody, Alabama with a military graveside to follow at Friendship Cemetery in Odenville, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the church.
