Mortally wounded on 7th July 1916 during the Somme Offensive. Evacuated back to England, died of his wounds at the Chelsea Hospital on 26th October. Buried at Wainsgate.

CWGC headstone at front of the plot. Small family gravestone (wedge and scroll) at the rear of the plot. White marble, badly discoloured, with lead lettering, a lot of which is missing.
