Joan Anna Mortensen, 85, of
Sebastian, Fla., died on Sunday, October 7, in the Hyacinth Nursing Facility in Sebastian.
Born in Teasdale, Pa., she had lived
in Newark and Scotch Plains before
moving to Florida 12 years ago.
Mrs. Mortensen had been employed by Bristol-Myers Squibb in
Hillside for many years prior to retiring.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie C. Mortensen.
Surviving are four sisters, Marion
Leipert, Estelle Pilot, Jean Palasti and
Blanche Krulikowski, and four brothers, John Pilot, Edward Pilot, Mickey
Pilot and Walter Pilot.
The funeral was held on Saturday,
October 13, from the Joseph W.
Preston Funeral Home in South Orange, followed by a Mass at Our
Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic
Church in South Orange. Interment
was at Hollywood Memorial Park in
Union.
