The son of John B. and Anna (Nientiet) Moert, Father Jerome was a resident Summerfield Manor Nursing Home and a retired Catholic priest. He was ordained in 1944 and served in parishes throughout Kentucky during his career. He died at the age of 84, and following funeral services at St Barnabas Church, was interred at Calvary on 3 November 1998.
