Anton Friday, a prominent German farmer who resided one mile west of Diller, was taken rather suddenly with appendicitis about noon last Friday and Drs. Dauguess and Diehl, of this place, deciding an operation was necessary Dr. Hepperlin of Beatrice, was summoned and the operation performed that evening. The patient recovered nicely from the operation and seemed to be getting along as well as could be expected until Tuesday night when his heart weakened until, although everything possible was done for him, it failed entirely and death ensued at about 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. After a short service at the house Saturdsay morning the remains were conveyed to the Catholic church at Fairbury where the funeral rites of that church, of which the deceased was a member, will be observed, the interment being made in the Fairbury cemetery
