Milvia Y. Oxer, age 93, of Orlando, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Cornerstone Hospice at ORMC following a brief illness. Blessedly, she was surrounded during her final week of life by all her immediate family, including: Harold, her husband of 71 years, and her two daughters Ruth and Pamela.

Born on December 2, 1925, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph and Sophie Diamond Spivak, Milvia married fellow Brooklynite Harold Lester Oxer in 1947. They spent most of their life in Connecticut, where Harold worked as an aerospace engineer at the United Technologies Corp. and Milvia served for several years as Registrar for the National Morgan Horse Association. They moved to Orlando in 1990.

Milvia and Harold loved to travel and they loved the outdoors. They visited campgrounds large and small across the US and Canada (often bringing their grandsons with them) and toured extensively all around the world.

Milvia is survived by her husband Harold and daughters Ruth Oxer-Hasenzhal, Jacksonville FL and Pamela (Matthew) Bates, Derwood MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jeremy (Jessica) Bates, Daniel (Sheila Kragie) Bates, Jonathan Hasenzahl and Michael Hasenzahl and two great-grandchildren Elon Kragie Bates and Henry Joseph Bates. She was predeceased by her brother, Eugene Spivak.

A graveside service will be held at Ohev Shalom Cemetery, 6034 Old Winter Garden Road, Orlando, on Friday, March 15, 2019, at 11 AM, with Rabbi Gary Karlin of Southwest Orlando Jewish Congregation officiating.
