Clarence H. Kuipers, 98, of Onarga passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Piper City Rehab & Living Center. He was born December 30, 1920 in Danforth, the son of Joe E. and Ella (Hemp) Kuipers. He married Margaret M. Fearington on February 20, 1943 in Danforth and she preceded him in death on April 22, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Merle and Wilbur; and one grandson, Kyle Kuipers.

He is survived by one son, Greg (Kathy) Kuipers of Onarga; two grandchildren, Kyla (Ron) DeOrnellas of Paxton and Trever (Krista) Kuipers of LeRoy; four great-grandchildren, Maddison and Kempton DeOrnellas of Paxton and Claire and Kelson Kuipers of LeRoy; one step-great-grandchild, Casey DeOrnellas of Paxton; one brother, Marvin Kuipers of Danforth; and two sisters, Devanna (Marshall) Hurt of Gilman and Caroline (Robert) Patterson of California.

Mr. Kuipers was a member of the Onarga Methodist Church, having served as Trustee and on various boards for the church. He was a farmer in the Gilman and Onarga area and enjoyed raising Angus cattle for many years. He was a member of the American Angus Association and enjoyed attending various Angus cattle shows. Clarence was the Beef Superintendent at the Iroquois County Fair and a 4-H leader for many years.

Public visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Onarga Cemetery. Rev. Connie Moodie will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or the donor’s choice.
