George A. Bungert, 77, RD 4 Floyd, retired Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. employe, died at 2:35 yesterday in the Rome Hospital. He had been hospitalized a week and ill two months.

Mr. Bungert was born in Rome on February 9, 1882, son of Herman and Irene Schneible Bungert. Fifty five years ago he married Winnie Tanner, who died in September of 1930.

He was employed by Niagara Mohawk for 26 years, retiring 12 years ago, and was a member of its 25 Year Club.

Mr. Bungert is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Hayden V. Seals, Rome, three sisters, Mrs.Theresa Brosnan, Mrs. Agnes Corneau and Mrs. Bertha Schmandt, all of Rome, three grandchildren and one great-grandson. A son, Albert Bungert, died five years ago.
