Samuel Down Baker died testate. In his will dated 12 May 1868, he states he is to be buried in the family plot in Sanbornton Bridge, Belknap, NH. Sanbornton Bridge changed names to Tilton. It was home to many of the Tiltons, Bakers and Glovers. He names his second wife Mary Ann Baker and gives right and tittle given to him by his late father Mark Baker of Sanbornton Bridge to property, money and their family cemetery plot. He remembers his sister Martha S Pillsbury of Sanbornton Bridge with the right to a pew in the Congregational Meeting House in Sanbornton Bridge by right of their father Mark Baker. He remembers his sister Abigail B Tilton and Mary M Patterson with a dollar each as they possess much of this world's goods. "My Son Samuel D. Baker, having been absent from home, six years, since he was heard from, my desire is, if my said Son should ever return that my wife shall care for him." Mary Ann Baker is selected as his sole executrix. A bond was posted by Mary Ann Baker on 27 Oct, 1868 including his sisters Abigail B wife of Alexander H Tilton of Sanbornton Bridge, Martha S Pillsbury of Sanbornton Bridge and Mary M wife of Daniel Patterson of Rumney and his nephew George W Baker of Sanbornton Bridge son of his late brother George Baker.
