Mrs. Barbara Loescher, wife of George A. Loescher of the G. A. Loescher & Sons Hardware Company, died Sunday evening at a few minutes before 8 o'clock, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton. Death followed a comparatively short illness of as complicated nature covering a period of several months. She was moved to the Appleton Hospital several weeks ago and for several days it had been apparent that the close of life was drawing near. Members of the family were at the bedside when Mrs. Loescher passed away.
Barbara Landgraf was born in Menasha, December 6, 1870, and spent her entire life in her home city, taking an active interest in its civil and social life. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and gave much of her time in the discharge of duties connected with the various church organizations. She was leading member of the Christian Mothers of St. Mary's Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Royal Neighbors and Economics Club. During the war period she was active in work among the various local organization and aided greatly in the accomplishments of those trying times. Possessed of a charming personality and of an industrious nature she was held in highest esteem by all who knew her.
Those who survive are her husband, G. A. Loescher; one daughter, Miss Lucille Loescher, one grandson, Thomas Loescher; two sisters, Mrs. L. T. Jourdain of Neenah and Mrs. C G. Kretchman of Janesville; and one brother, V. M. Landgraf of Menasha.
Funeral services will be held from St. Mary's Church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Rev. John Hummel will conduct the services and interment will be made at St. Margaret's Cemetery.
