Matilda "Tillie" A. Hafner, 100, formerly of 7156 Buckley Road, North Syracuse, died Thursday at Loretto's Cunningham Nursing Facility after a long illness.

A native of Scranton, Pa., she lived in North Syracuse before moving to Loretto in 1996.

She and her husband's family owned and operated the Hafner farm for 40 years.

Mrs. Hafner was a charter member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, North Syracuse.

She was a member of several sewing circles, including the Dorcus Circle at Luther Memorial.

Her husband, Jacob, died in 1963.

Surviving are two sons, Jacob of Liverpool and Walter of Hannibal; two daughters, Lillian Sobieralski of Cedarville, Mich., and Florence Pearson of North Syracuse; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are in North Syracuse Cemetery at a time to be announced.

Contributions may be made to the North Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps or Luther Memorial Church.

Krueger Funeral Home, 2611 Brewerton Road, Mattydale, has arrangements.
