Nina was born on Dec. 2, 1913 in the town of Hale, Trempealeau County to Elmer and Inga (Fremstad) Dahl. She married Edward A. Schroeder on June 10, 1944 in Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Whitehall. Edward preceded Nina in death on Jan. 12, 2004.
Nina was employed as a cook at the Whitehall Hospital and worked at the Coast to Coast Hardware Store in Whitehall and at Schroeder's Grocery Store in Blair. Nina volunteered for the hospital auxiliary and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening.
Nina is survived by a son, James (Janet) Schroeder of Chetek; a daughter, Marilyn Anderson of Blair; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Joel, Heidi and Andrew Anderson, Erin and Travis (Chrissy) Schroeder, Tracie (Wyatt) Kreutzer, Janell (Ken) Halama and Melanie (Jeff) Sygulla; eight great-grandchildren, Cole Anderson, Austin Schroeder, Callie and Bria Halama, Ross, Joseph, Jonathan and Mia Sygulla; two sisters, Irene Schroeder of Blair and Helen Van Sickle of Pleasantville.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nina was preceded in death by two sisters, Alverne Schroeder and Sylvia Larson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2007 at 11 a.m. in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall with Pastor Thomas W. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in rural Whitehall.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.
