On Friday, April 26, 2019, Elizabeth May Grossenbacher Rickord loving mother of five children, finished her journey on planet earth, at the age of 85.

Elizabeth was born on June 8, 1933 in Denver, CO to Guy Leroy Stephens and Helen Irene Gilstrap (Stephens).

Elizabeth received her Nursing degree from Barton Co. Community College. Elizabeth was a nursing home administrator, and owner of Shady Lawn Manor, located in Emporia KS. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Michael; brothers, Guy Stephens, Jack Stephens, Larry Ryan, Errol Stephens; and sister, Jan Dearing.

Elizabeth was a very caring, loving individual. She loved the elderly, and was a wonderful care giver to many through-out her years as a nurse and administrator. She loved to write poetry, which displayed her kind and compassionate spirit. She was quick witted and had an infectious sense of humor. She loved people and was always quick to help those in need.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Jack Rickord; her five children, Randy Wayne Grossenbacher (Debra), Ricky Joe Grossenbacher (Kelly), Susan Yvonne Grossenbacher Seeber (Chris), Marcy Ann Grossenbacher Moses (Brent), Patti Kay Grossenbacher; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church, 702 Arundel, Emporia, KS at 11:00 am.
