Sam retired from Hayes Albion in 2002. He enjoyed all sports, he was an active member of the Fork’s Senior Center where he enjoyed ping-pong with his many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Judy; daughter, Suzanne of Battle Creek; sons, Timothy (Julie) Calderone of Grand Rapids and Christopher (Teresa) Calderone of Jackson; grandchildren, Eric of Grand Rapids, Brittany (Jim) Bell of Missouri, Blake of Grand Rapids and Stephanie of Grand Rapids, Zachory Calderone of NY and Zoe Calderone of Jackson; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Carmela Calderone of MI and Maryann Horwitz of CT; many nieces and nephews survive him. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 6-9:00PM with a Rosary held at 7:00PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI 49224. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 6 at 11:00AM with visitation starting at 10:00AM prior to the service at St. John Catholic Church, 1020 Irwin Avenue, Albion with Father Joe Gray officiating."
