He was preceded in death by father David Koerte Sr., mother Conception Medina, sister Jeanette Koerte and brother-in-law Louis Pontes.
He is survived by wife Marlow Koerte of Kapaa, sons David Koerte III of Las Vegas, Michael (Lu) Koerte of Kekaha, Davin (Blazey) Koerte of Kapaa, stepdaughter Tina Silva, seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and sisters Rose (Jose) Castillo of El Paso, Texas, and Eleanor Pontes of Kalaheo.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, at Lihue First Church (behind King Auto Center), with viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and a celebration of life from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Inurnment will follow at Hanapepe Kauai Veterans Cemetery from 2:30 to 3 p.m., followed by lunch at the Hanapepe tennis courts pavilion.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
