Son of John H. Weidlein and Ellenora Christiana Emmert.

Husband of Hannah Sophia Rivenburg.

Father of Alice Grace, Wilbert Washington (W.W.), John Philip, Mabel, Lewis, Stella Winifred, George Addison, Luther, and Ione.

His siblings were: Andrew, Lavina, Lewis, Johannes Frederick, Jacob, Karl Frederick, George J. (or John George?), Edward, Caroline, Twin to Caroline, William Henry, and John Valentine.

Philip was born in Bedford County, Pa., and was one of thirteen children. His father and mother, natives of Bavaria, Germany, moved from Bedford County, Pa., to Henry County, Illinois, when Philip was ten years old. The journey was made over land by team to Wheeling, Va., where they took passage on a steamer and traveled on the rivers, which constitutes the river route between the East and the West. The water was low, and three weeks were passed on the trip. They landed at Rock Island, where the father bought a team, and came thence to Henry County.

Philip P. Weidlein was Mayor of Peabody, Kansas, for one year, 1879.

Philip P. Weidlein was killed getting off of a trolley.
