Edna A. Kroiss, age 91, of Appleton, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Edna was born June 29, 1915, in Appleton the daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Sternagel) Kirk. She has resided in Appleton all of her life and prior to marriage was employed at the Aid Association for Lutherans. On September 18, 1937, Edna was united in marriage to Max Kroiss, sharing 69 years together. She was a devoted and nurturing wife and mother who will be dearly missed by her family.
Edna will be deeply missed by her husband Max; five children: Gerald (Karen) Kroiss, Longmont, CO; Kathleen Bernier, Tustin, CA; Donald (Pat) Kroiss, New London; Karen (Dan) Nestor, Suwanee, GA; and Linda (George) Dawson, St. Paul, MN; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers: Otto (Ann) Kirk, Appleton; Floyd (Sylvia) Kirk, Little Chute; also nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by five brothers: Earl, Ervin, Walter, Robert and Norman, also three sisters: Eunice Kirk, Marian Surma and Helen Kirk.
Edna was a longtime member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church of Appleton.
Visitation will be directly at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, corner of Morrison and Franklin Sts, Appleton, from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church, with Rev. John Baumann officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established.
