Daryl was born January 17, 1957 in Postville, the son of Kenneth Kipp and Vivian Pauley. He attended grade school at St. Francis DeSales in Ossian and St. Patrick's School in Waukon. Daryl graduated from Waukon Senior High School in 1975. He attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls for three years majoring in accounting. He also earned an Associate's Degree in Applied Science from Bismarck State College in Bismarck, ND.

Daryl was employed with Foremost Farms in Waukon for his last 10 years. In the past, Daryl was employed with various drilling companies in Wyoming and Oklahoma, but relocated to live near his son, Matthew.

He died Saturday, June 23, 2007, in St. Francis Hospital,
LaCrosse, Wis., from complications of cancer. Services were held June 26 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Waukon, with Father Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial was in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Waukon.
