Obit. Haack, August (1899-1968)
Funeral services for August Haack, 78, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 15 at St. Mary's Catholic Church here. Rt. Rev. Msgr. F.P. Schulter officiated and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mr. Haack died Tuesday, January 9 at Happy Siesta Retirement Home. He had been in failing health for some time.
He was born December 21, 1899. He married [Leona Meyer on March 12, 1913. She passed away October 23, 1918]. He then married Katherine Stuntebeck in 1923 in Remsen and had been engaged in farming before his retirement. He was a lifelong resident of the Remsen community.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lois Triggs of Seattle, Wash.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Mildred Henline of Olympia, Wash., one brother, Otto Haack of Keystone, Ia.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, a son [George in 1925], and his second wife in May of 1967.
The funeral was directed by the Fisch Funeral Home.
