Monroeville man dies in crash
A 40 year old Monroeville man died after his car was hit broadside at Indiana 14 and Doyle Road by a man driving with a suspended license.
Rex Shellenbarger was pronounced dead on arrival Friday at Parkview Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the other car, T. B., 21, of the _____ block of Birchdale Drive, was treated for a knee injury at Parview and released.
He was charged with driving while suspended and is free on $750 bond.
The accident occurred at 11:55 a.m. when T.B., traveling south on Doyle Road, failed to stop his car at Indiana 14 and struck Shellenbarger's car, traveling on Indiana 14.

-It's a shame that they were not as strict on drunk driving back then as they are now. Being charged with only a suspended license and getting a knee injury is a very small price to pay to kill someone with your stupidity. The newspaper article failed to mention the man was drunk. I withheld the name and address of the man to protect his identity.-

Rex was my uncle and I miss him very much even after all this time.
