Jerald Joseph North, 83, died August 5, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family in Beavercreek, Ohio. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 13th at St. Mary’s Church located in Dayton, Ohio followed by a chapel internment at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.

Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents, Thomas and Louise (Mahle) North, brother Thomas North, and sister-in-law, Margarete. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Josephine Mary (Harrington) North. His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children, Jerald Joseph North II, daughter-in-law, Monica (Davis) North both of Indianapolis, IN; John Patrick North, of Dayton, OH; Mary Camille (North) Jovanovich, son-in-law, Michael Jovanovich both of Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren Annabel North of Dayton, OH, Rebecca North of Dayton, OH, and Emma North of Beavercreek, OH; sister, Barbara (North) Bernard, brother-in-law, Ralph both of Arcanum, OH; and a host of devoted brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jerry was a devout Roman Catholic and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, as a member of their Holy Name Society, and served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister. He was actively involved with the Knights of Columbus Council 3730 and a past Grand Knight. Most knew Jerry for his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America with over 50 years of association of which 35 years were as a Scout Master. He was an Eagle Scout and as a Scout Master he was awarded with scouting’s highest accolades: Silver Beaver Award, St. George Emblem, and the Scouter Achievement Award for outstanding leadership of youths and adults. He served his county as a Private First Class in the United States Army, and after a tour in Southern Germany was honorably discharged in 1955.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and other staff members of Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio for their incredible care provided to Jerry and the entire family. The family greatly appreciates all of the prayers, concerns, and kind words extended to them during this difficult time.

A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13, 2019. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am - 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church located at 310 Allen Street, Dayton, OH 45410 with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Jerry will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Avenue, Dayton, OH 45409.
