Frances H. Nuzum McLanahan passed away on February 1, 2016 after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband's George Creel Nuzum, and Howell McLanahan, and her son George Nuzum Jr. Frances leaves behind two daughters, Nancy Nuzum Landgraf (Ted) and Catherine Love Kennedy (Rick); seven grandchildren Judy Landgraf Delage, Ted R. Landgraf, Ricky Kennedy, Katie Kennedy, Trey Nuzum, Amy Nuzum and Charlie Nuzum; and four great grandchildren. Frances was born and raised in Claxton, GA., married George Creel Nuzum, Sr., and had three children, settling in Jacksonville in 1962. Frances was active at Parkwood Baptist Church for many years, then Arlington Methodist Church. She was involved in many other social and civic organizations throughout her life. She enjoyed playing Bridge with her dear friends, gardening, and fishing. Frances was known for her beautiful smile and her generosity. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. The family would like friends and family to please join them for the Celebration of Frances's life Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at 1217 Carlotta Road West, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
