Funeral services for Rev. John B. Schlotmann, for the past 23 years pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church of Evansville, IL, who died at noon Saturday following a year's illness from heart disease, will be held at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at Evansville. He was 67 years old.

Rt. Rev. Henry Althaus, Bishop of Belleville, will be the celebrant at the solemn requiem high mass.

Father Schlotmann was born on November 19, 1859, in Haustette, Germany, where he received his scholastic training. Coming to the United States at an early age, he studied at several Catholic colleges. Father Schlotmann was ordained to the priesthood at St. Minrad's College, IN, where he completed his theoretical course.

Following his ordination, Father Schlotmann was sent to Hecker, IL, where he was pastor for 16 years. In 1903 he came to Evansville, where he was active in the parish of which he was pastor.

Father Schlotmann was well known through Southern Illinois and also had a large number of friends among the clergy and laity in St. Louis.
