Frieda (nee Zeiler) Jorgenson-Barkley, 89, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2006, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln, Neb. on March 17, 1917, to Henry and Anna-Marie (nee: Uhrich) Zeiler Sr. and had spent her early years in Sturtevant. In 1937, she married Robert Jorgenson; then in 1953, she married Marvin Barkley. They both preceded her in death.
Frieda attended Racine area schools, later becoming a Nurse's Aid. She was employed at Southern Colony and Good Samaritan Nursing Home in St. Croix Falls. She attended Grace Church faithfully for many years and participated in Bible study and Harvester Club. She also volunteered at Lincoln Lutheran. She enjoyed painting and needlework, giving many of her paintings to relatives and friends. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and loved them dearly.
Frieda is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Joan Jorgenson; two grandchildren, Robert Jorgenson and Stacey Jorgenson; three great-grandchildren, Shayna Jorgenson and Michael and Christopher Jorgenson; and three sisters, Gertrude Drews, Irene Bailey, and Gloria Bielefeldt. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Henry Zeiler Jr. and Fred Zeiler; a sister, Helen Lee; brother-in-law, Donald Drews; and niece, Victoria Bielefeldt.
