Norman Herman Glandorf
July 7, 1928 - October 28, 2019

Williamsburg-Norman Herman Glandorf, was born July 7, 1928 at home on the family farm near Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Ernst and Emma (Doehrmann) Glandorf. He was baptized on July 29, 1928 and confirmed on May 24, 1942 all at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He attended school at Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1947. On September 27, 1949 Norman was united in marriage to Marjean Carolyn Halverson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. He was a life long farmer.

Norman and Marjean lived on the farm until moving to Williamsburg in 1993. Norman served on the L.I.S. school board, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy, where he had served as an elder, trustee, sang in the choir and was in the E.S.R. club. He enjoyed playing the accordion, woodworking, doing Sudoku puzzles and especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Norman passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City at the age of 91 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Marjean of Williamsburg; three children, Steven (Rhonda) Glandorf of Parnell, Brenda Glandorf and Linda (Orie) Yoder all of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Tia (Wade) Samo, Tara (Rob) Sayer, Laura (Jason) Mooney and Jesse (Addie) Yoder; nine great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Bonnie (Bob) Hull of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Stuart Glandorf, daughter Susan Glandorf, a brother Mervin Glandorf, a sister Pauline Wetjen and a great granddaughter Anna Sayer.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Memorials are for Trinity Lutheran Church or Lutheran Interparish School.
