Funeral services for Mr. Carlos Sebastian Theus will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2007 at St. Rest Baptist Church, Minden, under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sheppard Street Cemetery, Minden.

Visitation will be held until 8 p.m. today, July 13, in the chapel of Benevolent Funeral Home.

Mr. Theus was born on June 30, 1961 to the late William "Poochie" Theus and Mrs. Bobbie Harper Theus and died Saturday, July 7. He was the second born of three children.

He attended the public schools in Webster Parish, graduating from Minden High School in 1979. Believing God, he joined the Mt. Calm Baptist Church at an early age. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served four years. While there, he married Jeanette Haskell in Seattle, Wash., and to this union two children were born. After the marriage dissolved, he came home to Minden. He then united with Steeple Chase Baptist Church in Shreveport under the leadership of the Rev. Gregory Kirby.

He is survived by a loving mother, Bobbie Theus; two children, Carla and Carlos Sebastian Theus II; two sisters, Patrice Jiles and husband Gary and Kica Neloms; one god-brother, Lt. Col. Darryl Scarver; three aunts, Dorothy "T.T." Telford and husband Harry of Chicago, Ill., Ruby Mae Brown and husband George of Baton Rouge and Margaret Mae Theus of Atlanta, Ga.; two uncles, Verdis Theus of Jasper, Ala., and Grover Theus of Los Angeles, Calif.; one grandfather, Elbert Harper of Richmond, Calif.; two nieces, Simon and Dereshia; three nephews, Rashid, B.J. and Tarme'; one great-niece, Samara Crawford; special friend, Francis Edwards; and a host of other relatives and friends.
