Wendell Stoye, FC 1/C, and Mrs. Stoye announce the birth of a son May 5 at Newport, Rhode Island. Mrs. Stoye is the former Mary Jane Severson of Eau Claire.

Tommy Stoye was raised in Tacoma, WA and came to the San Diego area in college, finally settling in Escondido, Calif. He was a nationally known caller and one of the industry's most popular recording artists. He also had his own label, Sagebrush. He was a traveling caller and called in every state. He also did major conventions such as the Far-West convention in Eugene, Ore., in 1966, and the Alhea convention in Hawaii in 1968. He appeared at workshops and clinics at all National Square Dance conventions since 1966. He used to make three tours a year, spring, summer and fall. Some of Tommy's favorite records were "Dominique" on MacGregor label and "Light in the Window" and "Mr. Piano Man." Tommy quit calling in the 1970s to go into the ministry. In 1973, Tom married Shelley and they had a son named Matthew. They divorced in 1990 and Tom relocated to Republic, Washington where he passed away September 6, 1999.
