She was born Aug. 25, 1925, in West Salem to Martin and Millie (Mikkelson) Miller.
On Sept. 12, 1942, Millie married Herbert Sommerfeldt and they later divorced.
On April 30, 1948, she married Clarence E. Maack, Jr., in Winona, Minn.
In 1972, Millie began working at McDonald’s Restaurant in La Crosse and worked there for 35 years, past the age of 82.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in La Crosse for many years.
Millie was a lovely wife and an amazing mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her loving husband, Clarence Maack, Jr.; ten children, Ronald (Linda) Sommerfeldt, Barbara (Michael) Shugart, Clarence (Ann) Maack, III, Paulette Maack, Paul (Nadine) Maack, Carol Wenzel, Jennifer (Larry) Anderson, Julie (Barry) Siddons, Jeffrey Maack, and Melanie Maack; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; her sister, Jeanette Miller; her niece, Nancy (Donald) Knudtson; her nephew, Larry Hemker; and other relatives and friends.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter; her great-granddaughter; two brothers, Marlin Miller and Russel (Mia) Miller; and her sister, Lucille (Clarence) Hemker.
A private family graveside memorial service will be held at the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, La Crosse. Pastor Mark Rieke will officiate. There will be no visitation.
