Lou was previously married to Don Daniels (deceased). She had been happily married to James Kirk since 1989. Lou worked at First Federal Bank and the Lincoln Journal Star. Not being one to sit still, she enjoyed riding motorcycles, cooking, playing bingo, gardening and going to movies with friends.
Lou is survived by her children, Roger (Mary Ann) Daniels of Reno, Nev., Lisa Sorensen of Lincoln, Darin Daniels of Charleston, Mo., and Conn (Dawn) Daniels of Lincoln; son-in-law, Jeff Sorensen of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; sister Lorraine (Leonard) Vacha of Clarkson, sisters-in-law, Karen Kirk of Lincoln, and Elise Kirk of Kansas City, Kan.; along with numerous nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Kirk, son, Wesley Daniels; brother, Karl (Marjorie) Groteluschen.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday, December 3, at Christ Lutheran Church, 4325 Sumner St. with Pastor Luke Schnake officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 2, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R St. Inurnment will be at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery near Leigh. Memorials may be directed to her family for a later designation.
